The British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) is a science-based, charitable body that provides information, expertise and guidance in the recognition, control and management of workplace health risks.
BOHS was founded in 1953: it is the only professional society representing qualified occupational hygienists in the UK and has over 1,800 members in 57 countries. BOHS is the only occupational hygiene organisation to be awarded a Royal Charter: this was granted in April 2013 in recognition of BOHS’ unique and pre-eminent role as the leading authority in occupational disease prevention.
At Cirrus we employ fully qualified occupational hygienists that lead our monitoring team, offering sound advice and guidance to a wide range of clients.
We also have several team members that are currently undergoing training with BOHS affiliated training providers.
We encourage continuous professional development for all our personnel and use our membership of BOHS to keep up to date with new monitoring techniques, legislation and campaigns.

Ongoing optimization:
Regular audits and reviews encouraged by ISO 9001 enable organizations to continually refine their quality management systems, stay competitive, and achieve long-term success.
The Register of Occupational Hygiene Professionals is the UK’s regulated professional register of individuals competent to practise Occupational Hygiene and provide you with the necessary advice and expertise to help you protect the health of your workforce.
The Register of Occupational Hygiene Professionals is administered by the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene, the Professional Standards Body for the British Occupational Hygiene Profession.
The Register enables you to check an individual’s level of expertise and to see whether they have been independently verified as meeting the requirements outlined in Regulation 7 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. If they are not on the Register, even if they are registered with another professional body, then there has not been an independent check of their training, experience and other attributes.
